Circle Bridge constructed on the sea to avoid accidents

A ring-shaped circle bridge has been constructed in Uruguay by Architect Rafael Vinoly. It has been constructed recently. It has been named Laguna Garzon. It joins two cities namely Rocha and Maldonado situated nearby the sea. Around 22 lakh, people will benefit from this bridge. Around one thousand vehicles can commute on this bridge daily.

Rafael says about giving the bridge a shape of a finger ring that, “He adopted this concept taking care of people’s safety in mind as no vehicle can move at a fast speed on a circular bridge. When the speed would be slow, people would enjoy the natural surroundings around. The bridge’s cost amounted to 67 lakhs. It was completed in 12 months. Around 450 tons of steel, 40,000-meter cable, and 3500-meter concrete were used in the bride’s construction. 

Rafael has been awarded by the Royal institute of British Architects, American institute of architects etc. He adds further that he might live in New York but his name is because of Uruguay.
