Dudhsagar Falls Goa – It is also known as sea of milk and is one of the highest waterfalls in India. It is surrounded by lush greenery of Western Ghats and mountains. During the monsoons, it is a natural rare sight to watch. It is at an altitude of 1020 feet and is created by Mandovi River. It is near to Bhagwan Mahavir wildlife sanctuary. 

Dhuandhar waterfalls Madhya Pradesh – It is also called Dhuandhar Japrapat. It is located in Jabalpur in MP. It is created by Narmada River in Bhedaghat. The smoky waterfall with fog and loud roar of the gushing water can be seen and heard from faraway. This area is also famous for Kanha national park and Bandhawagarh national park.

Khandadhar Waterfall Orissa – It is the tallest waterfall of Orissa at Sundergarh in the forests of Nandapani. It is at a height of 801 feet. The stream, which creates the waterfall, flows throughout the year but at monsoons, it becomes a spectacular sight. The waterfall is amidst lush green forest with Kendu, Kusum, Sal, Segum, Mehua, Palash, and Akashmoni trees. In addition, Hirakund Dam, which is one of the longest earthen dams, is 60 kms from the waterfall.

Courtallam Waterfall Tamil Nadu – It is also known as spa of South and is located in Tirunelveli District of Tamil Nadu and surrounded by Western Ghats. There are many waterfalls here. The main waterfalls are Peraruvi falls, Chitraruvi, Shenbagadevi, and Thenaruvi. Main Falls is a group of nine waterfalls and combined it’s called the Courtallam Waterfall. 

Thoseghar Waterfalls Maharashtra – It is located at Satara city near Konkan region. It is at an altitude of 1150 feet. The beautiful valley in which it falls is called as Kas plateau or Kas Lake. The lush greenery of the Western Ghats is also found here. Maharashtra is one of the best monsoon destinations of India. Besides Thoseghar, other attractions are Lingmala fall, Dhobi waterfall, Kune Falls, and Chinaman’s waterfall.

Jog Waterfalls Karnataka – It is located in Shimoga district of Karnataka. Sharavathi River forms this waterfall. It has an altitude of 830 feet. It is the first highest untiered waterfall with 83 scenic points. It is also declared as UNESCO’s ecological hotspot.

Nohsngithiang waterfalls Meghalaya – It is also known as seven sister’s waterfall. It is the 4th highest waterfall in India. It is located in Mawsmai village in east khasi hills of Meghalaya. It is on the altitude of 1033 feet and only flows during monsoons. Meghalaya is the wettest place in India. 

Athirappilly falls Kerala – Kerala is known as land of Gods and is famous for its beaches, forests, waterfalls, and lush greenery. The waterfall is located in Thrissur district and is created by Chalakudy River in dense forests. It is the only place is India where the endangered species of great hornbill bird is found in India.

Talakona falls Andhra Pradesh – It is located in Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh inside Sri Venkateswara National Park. It has a height of 270 feet. The water of this fall is said to have medicinal properties due to many herbal trees around the falls. It boasts of the home of endangered species of Panther, Giant Indian Squirrel, birds, and beautiful butterfly. There are many caves and trekking routes here. 



Chitrakot Waterfall Chhattisgarh – The tribal place Chhattisgarh has one of the most amazing waterfalls. It is also popularly known as Niagara Falls of India. It is located at Jagdalpur and is created by Indravati River. The height of waterfall is only 29 meters but the breadth varies in different seasons and monsoons. Forests and mountain ranges of Vindhya cover the area.
