Lalbagh Botanical Garden – This is a beautiful 240 acres garden- It has an enchanting glasshouse made on the lines of Crystal Palace of London. This lovely garden was started by Haider Ali in 17th century and completed by his son Tipu Sultan. The name Lal Bagh comes from a vast collection of red roses that grow here abundantly. This garden has many rare plants, which are tropical and sub tropical. Every Independence and Republic day there is a show of flowers and hybrid vegetables here of over 200 varieties. 


Bangalore Palace – This is another majestic building, which is inspired by London’s Windsor Castle. It has a Tudor style built. It boasts of excellent woodcarvings, fortified arches, towers, and green lush lawns. It was built in 1887.

Ulsoor Lake – This serene lake is spread over an area of 125 acres. Tourists can enjoy boating at sunrise and sunset here. A swimming pool also attracts visitors here.

Cubborn Park – This is located in the center of the city. It has various species of rare plants and creates a lush environment for visitors to rest. This is a popular spot of tourists as well as local joggers and walkers. There is a Bal Bhawan for kinds in the park. In addition, there is a big aquarium with many exotic fishes. 

Tipu Sultan Palace – The palace and fort was first modeled by Chikedeva Raya. Later it was started by Haider Ali and completed by his son Tipu sultan in 1791. There is Hindu temple in the Palace. 

Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium – This planetarium was formed in 1989. The main reason to build this was to create awareness about astronomy among students and adults. Everyday two shows are held here. Monday is a holiday. 

Vidhan Soudha – It was built in 1954. It is built in Neo Dravidian style. It houses Karnataka legislative government chambers and other government department offices. It looks amazingly beautiful lit up at night.

Attara Kacheri – This high court building was built in gothic style of architecture. Its Corinthian columns look surreal painted red. It is near Cubborn Park and houses high court and other lower courts. The state central library building is also closeby. Also nearby is the government museum which beholds many treasures of ancient times like coins, sculptures, inscriptions and old paintings. Nearby to museum is the Vekatappa art gallery, which houses famous paintings, plaster of Paris works, and wooden sculptures of Venkatappa and other artists. 

Savandurga – It is said to be the largest rock in the world. It is 4000 feet above sea level. It is around 30 kms from Bangalore. However, there is much driving around to reach there and the view is just majestic. All around the rock is the forest and Savandurga Dam.


Crazy Waters amusement park – This amazing water park is situated amidst the rocky terrain at Bannerghatta Main Road. It provides such adventure thrills to tourists and nature lovers.
