Drass, Ladakh – It is the coldest place in India. The temperature here dips to -40 degrees in peak of winters. It is around 60 kms from Kargil. After Siberia, it is the coldest place on earth. It is located at an altitude of 3230 m. 

Leh – It is situated in Jammu and Kashmir and is considered the second coldest place in India. There is harsh 6 months of winters here. The temperatures drop below freezing point here. 

Kargil – It is also one of the coldest places in India located in Ladakh. The temperature here drops down to -15 degrees in winters. In addition, harsh rainfall along with heavy winters is commonplace here. The region of Ladakh is cut from the other parts of country during heavy snowfall in winters.

Srinagar – It is one of the most beautiful places in India and is compared to Switzerland. The winters are very harsh here. The famous Dal Lake freezes up below zero degrees for few months.
Keylong – It is situated in Himachal Pradesh and is another one of the coldest place in India. The lahul spiti district experiences very harsh winters.

Shimla – It is situated in Himachal Pradesh and is known as queen of hills. The snowfall is seen each year without fail during Christmas and New Year. 

Darjeeling – It is a very beautiful hill station in west Bengal. The temperature here drops to sub zero degrees. The tea plantations are famous here.

Mussoorie – It is a beautiful hill station nestled among the mountains. It is in proximity to Dehradun and Rishikesh. The temperatures drop to sub zero degrees here in winters.
