Top ten haunted places in India
Bhangarh, Rajasthan – It is known as the most haunted places of the country. The wildlife sanctuary Sariska is nearby. Bhangrah fort consists of the ruins of the town where there is a market set up at night as per legend and also is the beautiful ruins of the fort along with temple of Lord Hanuman inside it. Staying after sunset is not allowed here due to paranormal activities. Most people visit it for its beautiful ruins and forts. Legend says that it was built in the 16th century. A magician was in love with the princess of Bhangarh but he was not allowed to love her and was abandoned. This made him angry and he casted a spell on the town but before that the princess who also knew magic casted a spell on him, but before his death he transformed the town in ruins. Until now, there is no roof on any of the houses there. However, its is a very beautifully preserved archaeological site. One feels the energy of spooky stuff around oneself even at daytime.
Delhi Cantonment – It is a beautiful place in the day. But as the night falls, it becomes one of the scariest places. Nearly every driver passing through the area at night has seen a woman clad in white sari asking for lift and many have reported that she runs as fast as the car sometimes. It is a very spooky experience.
Shaniwarwada Fort, Pune – It is a beautiful historical and architectural building and very famous. There are many strange happenings here at night especially full moon night. The legendary story is about the prince Narayan of Peshwa dynasty who was murdered in the fort at the age of 13 years by his relative inside the fort. Many locals have reported the words “kaka mala vacha” can be heard coming from the fort at night.
Ramoji film city, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh – This has been a popular location for film shoots etc.The hotels inside the film city are also haunted. It is said that this place is Nizam sultans war ground. Many strange happenings happen here and have been reported. The lights of the shoot fall down suddenly and the light men have been injured, the makeup room’s mirrors have strange marks and food and stuff is scattered inside the room. The girl’s clothes are torn off and strange noises are heard. Outside doors, get locked themselves and strange words in Urdu are seen written all over the place.
Dow Hill in Kurseong Darjeeling – It is one of the most haunted places. This place is famous for boarding schools. Many paranormal activities, murders, and accidents have been happening here. Victoria Boys School is said to be haunted the most followed by Dow hill boarding school for girls. The forests surrounding the schools are said to be haunted as well. Many people and woodsmen have seen a headless ghost of a boy roaming around. Footsteps are heard in school corridors even when the schools are closed.
Dumas Beach Gujarat – It is a very beautiful and bright beach at daytime. But it becomes spooky, haunted, and abandoned as night falls. Hindus used this beach to burn the bodies of dead in the past. Some people have been reported to disappear while walking at night and many have heard strange noises. It is said that sprites of dead roam here. The dogs bark whole night near the beach. It is close to Surat.
Vrindawan Society Thane – In past a man committed suicide in the society. The people living here and the night guards have experienced paranormal activities here. Though it is, still the best housing societies of Thane the residents are careful to enter the premises on time and not late at night.
Brij Bhawan Palace, Kota Rajasthan – It is a beautiful palace with intricate architecture and is around 178 years old. Legend says that Major Burton a British who was killed along with his sons in a mutiny by Indian men in 1857 still resides here. The ghost of Major Burton does not harm anyone but if any guard is seen sleeping at night then he is slapped.
D’Souza Chawl Mahim Mumbai – A women fell and died in the well in the past while taking water. The place has been haunted ever since. Many people have reported seeing a woman near the well at night.
GP Block Meerut – People passing this place have seen strange sightings here. Four men sitting together and drinking are seen here mostly in candle light. Many people have also seen a young girl in red dress coming out of the house. Once these sightings increased, people stopped going to that place.
