Dasht-e Kavir, Iran Desert
Recently a travel website has included this Desert in world’s top 10 beautiful Deserts. It is the biggest salt desert of central Iran. This desert is 390 km long.
- Rain is negligible here. Because of lack of rain, the upper part of desert is filled with salt layer remains. This adds to the beauty of the desert. In summers, the mercury shoots to more than 50 degrees here. There is no special arrangement to stay in this desert.
- Kavir National Park is also located here. Many people come from far to camp and trek here. However, rainfall is scanty but there is snowfall every winter. In winters, the temperature is about 22 degrees and day and night temperatures differ.
- It is called as Salt - Mesh of Salt in some places. It is the world’s 23rd biggest desert with an area of 77,600 square kms.
