Top 10 Must See Forts and Palaces in India: Red Fort Delhi – The beautiful Red fort at Delhi is made of sandstone. It is rightly called the pride of Delhi and India. It was built by Shahjahan in the 17th century. It took a decade to complete and the royal family used to live in it. It is located near river Yamuna. The fort has many halls, mosques, and gardens in it. The famous parade on 15th august each year finishes at red fort.

Agra Fort Agra - It is one of the finest forts of the Mughal Empire in India. It was originally under the Rajput Empire. However, after being captured by the Mughals it was rebuilt by Akbar. He formed his capital here in the 15th century. The fort houses many buildings inside it. Golkonda Fort Hyderabad – It is situated around 11 km's from Hyderabad. It was first built by rulers of Kakatiya and later many times it was reconstructed. This fort is on a hilltop. It is known for its majestic structure. Golkunda was once famous for its diamond mines. There is amazing military architecture in the fort.
