10 Best Tourist Destinations places in Assam Kamakhya Temple – This beautiful temple is situated on the Nilachal hill. It is at an altitude of 800 feet above sea level. This temple is said to be about 2200 years old. The view of surrounding hills and rivers from the temple is breathtaking.

Kaziranga National Park – This has been declared as a world heritage site. There are various kinds of animals and migratory birds found here. It is spread in an area of around 430 sq km. Tigers, Sambhar deer, rhinoceros, elephants etc are found here. Elephant rides through park are also available.

Haflong Lake – It is located in Haflong town. This beautiful hilly place is also known as Switzerland of the east. There are lovely waterfalls and beautiful lakes here. The place is surrounded by lush green hills. There are large numbers of pineapple and orange trees here. It is located at an altitude of 1683 meters above sea level.
